One of my absolute favourite trends that was seen on the AW18 catwalks earlier in the year was bright florals on a dark background, mainly because it's so easily wearable for day to day unlike some of the more outlandish fashion week looks. I'm so pleased to see that is been embraced wholeheartedly by the high street after seeing the likes of Gucci, Erdem, Saint Laurent, Simone Rocha and many more sending their models down the runway in this beautiful dramatic print.
I knew from the start that this was a trend I wanted to feature as part of this campaign and I'm so pleased to say that the piece that I found at intu Derby to showcase it is even more gorgeous than I had hoped to find! I can't lie I found lots of beautiful candidates - shirts, dresses, trousers and more - but when I spotted this dress on the second floor of Marks and Spencer I just couldn't resist it. At £49.50 I think this stunning Floral Print Long Sleeve Shirt Maxi Dress (although I would call it a midi dress on my 5'8'' frame) is a real bargain considering the quality of the fabric with it's bright colours and flocked flower detailing. The dress I'm wearing is two sizes smaller than I would usually buy, so I would definitely recommend trying it on as it's generously fitted - hooray! The shirt dress style with voluminous sleeves, delicate small covered buttons and high keyhole neckline is designed so beautifully, I honestly love it more than some dresses I own that cost five times as much.
I highly suggest you make a trip to the Marks and Spencer at intu Derby to find this and many other gorgeous fashion, beauty and homeware bits - it's a great store over several levels with a great selection available. It'd genuinely my fave M and S because it's such a nice shopping environment and their stock is updated often so you can get all the fab new season bits! Plus of course it's part of the intu Derby centre so it's attached to lots more fab shops and restaurants for a yummy pit stop!
Keep your eyes on the intu Derby Instagram stories over the next few weeks where I'll be sharing lots of other pieces you can buy to keep up with the season's upcoming trends!
